Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CodeTours ("the Service"), operated by Charlesberry Group ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CodeTours generates guided, narrated tours of codebases. You provide source code or a link to a repository, and the Service uses large language models (LLMs) to analyze the code and produce a structured walkthrough with audio narration.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are inactive for an extended period.

4. Your Code and Content

You retain all ownership rights to any code or content you submit to the Service. By submitting code, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Store your code temporarily for the purpose of generating and displaying tours
• Process your code through our analysis pipeline, including third-party LLM providers
• Display code snippets within the generated tour

We do not claim ownership of your code. Code submitted for tour generation is stored only as long as needed to produce and display the tour, subject to the retention period of your plan tier.

5. LLM Processing

The Service uses third-party large language model providers (such as Google Gemini) to analyze code and generate narration. These providers do not use your code to train their models. However, your code is transmitted to these providers for processing. You should not submit code that you are not authorized to share with third-party services.

6. Public and Private Tours

Tours may be public or private depending on your plan. Public tours are visible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for ensuring that any code submitted for public tours does not contain sensitive information such as secrets, credentials, or proprietary data you are not authorized to share.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to process code you do not have the right to share
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or disrupt the Service
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the Service beyond normal use
• Submit malicious code designed to exploit the analysis pipeline
• Resell access to the Service without our written consent

8. Paid Plans and Billing

Paid plans are billed on a monthly basis. You may cancel at any time, and your plan will remain active through the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

9. Tour Retention

Tours are retained for a limited period based on your plan tier. After the retention period, tours and their associated data (including stored code and audio) are permanently deleted. We are not responsible for data loss after the retention period expires.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Generated tours are produced by AI and may contain inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any generated content.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Charlesberry Group shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, unauthorized access to your code, or inaccuracies in generated tours.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
